CHICAGO–An actress from Yazoo City, famous for playing Fred Sanford’s girlfriend and sometimes fiancee’ on Sanford and Son, has died.
Lynn Hamilton died at her home in Chicago over the weekend.
Hamilton was born in Yazoo and her family moved to Chicago when she was 12.
In addition to playing the role of Donna Harris, Hamilton also had a part in Roots: The Next Generation and a recurring role on The Waltons.
She was 95. Hamilton, besides Demond Wilson, was one of the last surviving members of the Sanford and Son cast.
