DREW, Miss.–Two men have been arrested, nearly $300,k000 in cash taken, 247 lbs. of weed found and more arrests are expected in a drug bust in Sunflower County.
According to the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics the bust happened last week at the Ruleville-Drew Airport in Drew. The agency had assistance from the Sunflower County Sheriff’s Dept. and the Winona Police Dept. K-9 unit.
During the bust more than 247 lbs of marijuana was found, along with more than $295,000 in cash, a .22 caliber pistol, a shotgun and agents also seized a single-engine Piper/Comanche airplane. Additional drugs were found when a house was searched.
Two men were arrested. They are identified as William Claren, 63, of California and Mark Bailey, 66, of Mississippi.
The men are charged with drug trafficking and conspiracy. More arrests are possible.
