SHARE NOW
OLIVE BRANCH, Miss.–Police had guns drawn and were wearing bullet-proof vests as they entered a motel next to a Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, Missouri, Monday evening about 5. They took down Colby Alan Towles, the man who police say shot at Olive Branch cops Monday morning, then sped off.
Springfeild is five hours away from Olive Branch.
Meanwhile, in Olive Branch, Towles’ girlfriend, Sarah Skriver, 33, was arrested and charged with being an accessory.
It remains unclear why Towles, 34, took shots at officers, according to their reports, when they pulled him over on Hwy. 302 at about 1:45 Monday morning. They say he yelled at them before firing shots. One officer shot back.
When Towles was arrested he had a child with him.
Towles is preliminarily charged with assault on a police officer, which could get him a 30-year prison sentence if he’s convicted.
