CLARKSDALE, Miss.–One of the men who was arrested after a standoff with Horn Lake and Southaven Police Monday will not be released from jail on bail because he has been indicted for a shooting in Coahoma County.
Franshawn Brown, 18, was denied bond when he appeared before a judge Wednesday. He’s now facing attempted murder, aggravated assault and shooting into a motor vehicle charges in Coahoma County, according to court documents.
Lamottiss Simms, Jr., will be given a chance to get out of jail before trial, with a $1.2 million bond.
Both men are from Memphis, and are accused of leading police on a chase, crashing their car on I-55 in Southaven, then refusing to come out of a warehouse all day Monday. Negotiators were able to get them to surrender after hours talking with them on the phone.
