ROSEDALE, Miss. — A Rosedale man was critically injured Wednesday after being shot multiple times during an argument, according to the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a call at approximately 12:03 p.m. on July 16 at a residence on 85 Castle Road. Upon arrival, they found Demarius Fortney, 44, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Fortney was airlifted to Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was listed in critical condition.
Investigators said the shooting stemmed from an argument between Fortney and the suspect, identified as Demarko Murphy, 48, also of Rosedale.
Murphy was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault. He is being held at the Bolivar County Regional Jail awaiting his initial court appearance.
