Manhunt Underway: Convicted Felon Escapes Mississippi State Penitentiary

PARCHMAN, Miss.–A man escaped Monday from the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman. The Mississippi Dept. of Corrections offered few details about Gregory Trigg’s escape, but did give some insight into his criminal history.

Trigg, described as Black, 6ft., 200 lbs., with a bald head and a beard, is from Madison County, but also has ties to Rankin and Scott counties.
He was serving a 61-year sentence for armed robbery, two counts of kidnapping, residential burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime and being a felon with a firearm in Madison County. He was convicted of non-residential burglary in Scott County and vehicle burglary in Rankin County.
