GREENVILLE, Miss. Mayor Errick D. Simmons has announced a full slate of events for Greenville’s 2025 Juneteenth celebration, set to run June 19–22. The festivities, honoring veterans and legacy, aim to bring together the community in recognition of freedom, history, and heritage.
Organized by the Local Organizing Committee in partnership with the City of Greenville and the Washington County NAACP, the four-day celebration will feature live performances, food, vendors, and family-friendly activities—all with free admission.
“Juneteenth is more than a celebration—it’s a sacred recognition of the struggle, sacrifice, and strength that brought us closer to freedom,” Simmons said in a statement. “As we honor our veterans and legacy, we continue the work of justice and unity for all.”
The event schedule includes:
June 19 at noon: A flag-raising ceremony at Greenville City Hall, 340 Main Street.
June 20 at 7 p.m.: The Juneteenth Pageant at Cee Bee’s Banquet Hall, 136 Walnut Street.
June 21 starting at 9:30 a.m.: A parade and street festival on Historic Nelson Street, 318 Poplar Street, including a ribbon-cutting and special performances, headlined by the band VARIETY.
June 22 at 11 a.m.: A Sunday worship service at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, 524 Nelson Street.
