MOUND BAYOU, Miss. — Mayor Leighton Aldridge is asking residents of Mound Bayou to stay vigilant after a rise in vehicle break-ins and attempted thefts.
In a message to the community, Aldridge warned that “some young folks are still out here making poor decisions,” and encouraged residents to lock their doors, secure valuables, and make sure security systems are functioning.
“If you see something, say something,” Aldridge said. “This is our town, and it’s going to take all of us to protect what’s ours.”
The mayor also directed his comments to parents, urging them to stay involved in their children’s lives and know who they are spending time with.
“I love this city too much to stay silent,” Aldridge said. “Let’s stay vigilant, stay connected, and stay ready.”
