JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is looking into an officer-involved shooting incident that happened on May 20, 2023, at approximately 6:00 a.m. The incident occurred at a residence situated on BB King Road in Indianola, Mississippi and involved officers from the Indianola Police Department.
The Indianola Police Department received a call summoning officers to the location in response to a domestic disturbance. No officers sustained injuries during the course of the incident. However, a minor residing at the residence suffered significant injuries and has been promptly transported to a local hospital for necessary medical treatment.
MBI is actively engaged in assessing this critical incident. Upon the completion of the investigation, MBI will disclose its findings to the Attorney General’s Office.
