Mississippi Highway Patrol Responds to Fatal Crash

HOLMES COUNTY, Miss. — A fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 12 in Holmes County prompted a response from the Mississippi Highway Patrol on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at approximately 3:03 p.m. According to authorities, 44-year-old Henry Hooker of Dallas, Georgia, was driving a 2006 Yamaha Motorcycle east on Highway 12 when it collided with a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 54-year-old Don Powell of Tchula, Mississippi, also traveling east on the same highway. Henry Hooker sustained fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, officials reported. The incident is currently under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
