Taylor-Fuller, a Moorhead native and MVSU alumna, has served with the university’s police department for 16 years. She follows in the path of her late father, who retired from the department in 2005 after nearly three decades in law enforcement.
Taylor-Fuller said becoming chief is an honor and a calling. “I always wanted to be like my dad—not knowing at the time that law enforcement was my calling,” she said.
MVSU President Jerryl Briggs called her appointment historic and praised her long-standing service and commitment to campus safety.
Taylor-Fuller joined the department in 2010 after completing training with the Mississippi Highway Patrol and graduating from the Mississippi Delta Community College Police Academy. As chief, she plans to strengthen staffing, enhance officer training, and build a workplace culture focused on safety and respect.
She hopes her achievement encourages young women to pursue their goals. “Stay focused. Be true to who you are,” she said.
