CLEVELAND, Miss.–You are one day away from Mississippi’s primary election.
In the primary you are essentially picking the candidates for the general election, which is held in November. You will either vote Democrat or Republican, but not both.
The voters in the primary will decide candidates for president and Congress, to represent Mississippi in Washington. Several Republicans want to take the nomination from Sen. Roger Wicker, who will also have a Democratic opponent.
Congressman Bennie Thompson, who has been the Delta’s representative since 1992, is also up for re-election
