MOUND BAYOU, Miss. — The City of Mound Bayou is notifying residents of an upcoming sewer line improvement project that will begin later this month and continue through the spring.

City officials said BLD Services will begin work in the area of Jerome Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive starting Jan. 14, 2026. The project is part of the city’s ongoing Sewer Line Improvement Project and is expected to continue through April 12, 2026.

During construction, residents should expect temporary traffic delays and limited access in the affected area. Officials are urging motorists and pedestrians to yield to construction crews, reduce speed and use caution while traveling through the work zone.

City leaders said the project is necessary to improve Mound Bayou’s sewer infrastructure and ensure long-term reliability of service for residents.

Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact Mayor Leighton Aldridge or visit the city’s website at www.cityofmoundbayou.com.
