Mound Bayou to Host 16th Annual September Fest on August 31

MOUND BAYOU, Miss. — The 16th Annual September Fest is set for August 31, 2024, in Uptown Mound Bayou, as announced by Mayor Leighton Aldridge, the Board of Aldermen, and the SeptemberFest Committee.

The festivities will begin with a free Kids Color Run at 8 a.m. at the I.T.M. Elementary Walking Trail, with registration opening at 7 a.m. A 5K Walk/Run will follow at 9 a.m. starting from Taborian Hospital. The entry fee is $10, with proceeds benefiting local children’s playground equipment. The traditional September Fest Parade will commence at 11 a.m. from City Hall.

This year’s entertainment lineup includes performances by The Southern Soul Band, Nathaniel Kimble, and other local acts, including several DJs. Vendors interested in participating can reach out to Mound Bayou City Hall at (662) 741-2193 or (662) 741-2194.
