CLEVELAND, Miss.–You may be getting the coldest air so far this year early next week. But, before that you have another chance for severe weather.
The severe weather potential for the Delta is Thursday night and Friday morning, said Dan Byrd, a forecaster with the National Weather Service Jackson office.
“There’s the potential. We do have a slight risk,” said Byrf. The National Weather Service Memphis office also Tweeted about that risk, saying it includes the potential for heavy rain and a few tornadoes.
The extreme cold comes with a front Sunday.
“A pretty strong, dry cold front will sweep across the state on Sunday. There will be another, stronger cold front that could possible bring us some rain and a mixed bag of precipitation on Monday and Monday night. But, that’s still quite a ways out and we’re still monitoring that.”
Byrd said you could see teens and even single digits Tuesday morning, with highs in the 30s.
