CLEVELAND, Miss.–You’re being warned that prolonged time out in the heat could put you at increased risk for heat stroke. That warning comes from the National Weather Service.
The Delta is again under an excessive heat warning for Friday, this time with wording that there is a significant risk for heat-related illness without a way to keep cool.
The actual high is expected at 101, with a heat index at 114.
You’re encouraged to stay inside in the air conditioning if you can. If not, take frequent breaks, drink lots of water and wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothes.
