New Bill Could Eliminate School Districts in Washington County

SHARE NOW
GREENVILLE, Miss.–There would be only two school districts in Washington County, if a bill filed this week in the Mississippi House is passed and becomes law.
The bill would eliminate three districts in the county, consolidating them into one district for the county and one district for Greenville. The districts that would be eliminated would be Leland, Western Line and Hollandale.
The bill was filed By Rep. Rob Robertson, a Republican from Starkville.
The plan would be executed over two years time, beginning this fall and being complete in 2027.
