TUNICA, Miss.–A woman was killed and a child injured in a one-vehicle wreck in Tunica County.
The wreck happened Tuesday morning about 9:45 on Prichard Rd, said Tunica County deputies. The person who called 911 witnessed the wreck and stayed on the scene.
When medics got to the scene they treated both the woman and child. But, the woman, identified as Mya Jackson, 22, of Tunica, died at the scene from her injuries.
The child was airlifted to the hospital for further treatment.
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the wreck and deputies are still looking into it.
