GREENVILLE, Miss. — A Greenville man faces charges of murder and aggravated assault after a shooting at a local gas station left one man dead.

Around 9:30 p.m. Friday, March 27, officers with the Greenville Police Department responded to a FLOCK alert of shots being fired in the 1700 block of U.S. Highway 82 East near an Exxon station. When officers arrived, they found shell casings in the parking lot, indicating a shooting had occurred.

Shortly after, Delta Health officials confirmed that a gunshot victim had arrived at the hospital’s trauma room, according to authorities. The victim, identified as 31-year-old Timothy Blair of Greenville, was later pronounced dead.

Following an investigation, police arrested 23-year-old Roderick Jenkins Jr. in connection with the shooting. He is charged with murder and aggravated assault.
