In the early morning hours of December 2, 2023, the Greenville Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the 1500 block of Mekhi Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of 24-year-old Jakell Hines in front of a local business, bearing an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. Emergency services rushed Hines to Delta Health Systems, but sadly, he was later pronounced dead.
The police department has launched a comprehensive investigation into this tragic murder, seeking any additional information from the public.
