GREENVILLE, Miss. — A police raid in Greenville resulted in the arrest of 42-year-old Roderick Lewis on Friday, February 21st, in a continued effort to combat crime and gang activity in the city.
The Greenville Police Department’s Special Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence on the 900 block of South Theobald, where they discovered a large amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a cache of firearms. Among the 11 firearms seized were five shotguns, three rifles, two handguns, and a Draco Assault Rifle.
Lewis has been charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, with a firearm enhancement, and gang activity. He is currently out on a $75,000 bond.
Greenville Police Chief Marcus Turner emphasized that the raid is part of ongoing efforts to address illegal activities in the area. “We will continue ridding our community of gun violence, drugs, and gang activity,” Turner said. “These raids will not stop, and we will continue prosecuting these cases.”
This operation is part of a larger initiative in partnership with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. Turner also urged the community to keep using the Crime Stoppers tips line to help law enforcement tackle crime.
Lewis is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
