CLARKSDALE, Miss. — Clarksdale witnessed a remarkable moment at J’s Grocery as the community gathered to commemorate the Renovation Groundbreaking Ceremony, spearheaded by public policy scholar Tyler Yarbrough and his dedicated team.
Owned by Al Jones, the esteemed 2013 Clarksdale Chamber Citizen of the Year, J’s Grocery is a pivotal neighborhood hub set to undergo renovations aimed at enhancing accessibility to locally sourced produce and nutritious food options for both the neighborhood and the broader community.
The renovation initiative, led by Yarbrough, includes plans for various enhancements, such as outdoor art installations and sidewalk renovations, aimed at revitalizing the area and fostering community engagement.
Acknowledging the collaborative effort, the Crossroads Economic Partnership extends gratitude to Mayor Chuck Espy and the City Board of Commissioners for their invaluable support and contributions to the project.
Yarbrough, recognized as one of the community’s youngest leaders, has demonstrated remarkable dedication and vision, surpassing expectations despite his age. His exemplary citizenship and unwavering commitment to Clarksdale’s betterment are celebrated and applauded by the community.
