GREENVILLE, Miss.–If you’re looking for a career fixing planes and other aircraft, Greenville may be the place to be sooner rather than later. At the Greenville City Council meeting Tuesday, a report on the renovations at the Greenville Mid-Delta Regional Airport was that renovations could be completed “sooner rather than later”.
“We do have $500,000 here in Washington County for you all to use here at the airport for upgrades, renovations,” said Washington County Board of Supervisors Pres. Carl McGee. He presented the council with that opportunity to add to the money already coming from the state and the U.S. Dept. of Labor.
The money is to support efforts by aerospace company GKAM to renovate a hangar and offices at the airport to fix planes from all over the country.
The company expected to be able to begin fixing crop dusters from the Delta as one of its first local projects this spring. That depends on renovations and inspections of the facility being completed.
