SENATOBIA, Miss.–If you get a call saying you missed jury duty, you owe a fine and they want you to pay it over the phone, it’s a scam, says the Tate County Sheriff’s Office.
Several people in the county have gotten calls like that.
“The Sheriff’s Office will NEVER call you to demand payment over the phone. Stay alert and report any suspicious calls to Tate County E911 and Senatobia Dispatch Center via their non-emergency line (662-560-5692),” read a post from the department.
