SHELBY, Miss.–Shelby has a new mayor. But, that’s unofficial. Robert Scott was elected to replace former mayor Dan Harris in a special election Tuesday in the Bolivar County town.
Scott got 405 votes to Bobbie Reed’s 104.
It’s unofficial until July 30, when it will be certified.
Town authorities say someone voted without the proper ID, which you can do if you sign an affidavit. That person now has five days to bring in the ID so the cote can be counted.
