Severe Storms and Flooding Threaten Delta Counties This Week

SHARE NOW
YAZOO CITY, Miss.–Flooding and severe weather are both possible in Delta counties Wednesday and again this weekend.
The National Weather Service says you can expect several inches of rain and because the ground has already been saturated, flash flooding could occur, especially near thunderstorms.
The threat for severe storms is greatest in counties in the south Delta Wednesday, with strong winds, hail and even a few tornadoes possible. Saturday’s threat is as yet uncertain.
Cooler temperatures are expected Thursday, and according to the long-range forecast, again Sunday. Saturday’s high is expected at 80, while Sunday’s high is 51. That sharp difference could spell trouble. You are urged to stay weather aware.
