BELZONI, Miss.–Severe weather is possible again Friday in the Delta.
“We’re thinking several rounds could go through anywhere from noon on Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday morning,” said National Weather Service forecaster Mike Edmunston, with the Jackson office.
He said the threat includes all of the Delta, but the heaviest concentration of severe weather will likely be in the south Delta, south of a line from Greenville to Meridian.
“That includes damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, hail up to quarter size, and a few tornadoes will also be possible.”
Edmunston said flash flooding will also be likely with heavy rain on top of the rain that we’ve already had this week that has soaked up in the ground.
