GREENWOOD, Miss.–In June State Sen. David Jordan announced his retirement from the Mississippi Senate. Now six candidates have qualified to run in the special election to replace him.

Those six candidates, certified this week, include Jason Colquett, Justin Pope, Curresia Brown, Everett Hill, Loretta McClee and Georgio Proctor.

Gov. Reeves set the special election for Nov. 4.

Whoever wins will complete the term begun by Jordan and will have to run again if the wish to retain the seat, once that term is complete.
