VAIDEN, Miss.–A man who had a 12-year-old girl with him in his transport truck when he was caught in Vaiden, along I-55 last year, has gotten a 17 and a half year federal prison sentence for transporting a minor across state lines for sex.
Federal prosecutors say RandyTaylor, 35, of South Carolina, met the girl online then drove his 18-wheeler to her home in North Carolina, picked her up and drove to Louisiana, where the two had a sexual encounter in his truck, which Taylor recorded.
It was then that the FBI began tracking the girl at the behest of her family.
They and Carroll County deputies, were able to track her down to the Vaiden truck stop where she was found and rescued. She was sent back to her family.
Taylor will have to be on probation for 10 years once he is released.
