SOUTHAVEN, Miss.–The man who was arrested last week in the shooting of a man from Maryland, which resulted in that man’s eventual death, has been identified as Tranell Marquise Williams, 38, of Southaven.
Police say they were called to a house on Burton Lane, which is near Hwy. 51 and Church Rd., last Wednesday. When they arrived they found Reginald Carroll, 52, of Maryland, shot.
He was taken to Region One in Memphis, where he died.
Police announced the arrest Saturday and identified the suspect Monday.
Carroll was known in Maryland for his work as a comedian. It was unclear what led up to the shooting.
