SOUTHAVEN, Miss.–A 19-year-old man from Southaven is accused of kidnapping a 14-year-old girl in the Parkway Village community in MEmphis Friday, then taking her to Southaven, where she was found.
Memphis POlice say Diego Velkasquez-Espino was wearing a mask and had a gun when he took the girl Friday about 7 p.m.
After an amber alert was issued, Memphis Police got a tip that the girl was in Velasquez-Espino’s neighborhood on Stateline Rd. in Southaven, and that’s where she was found by U.S. Marshals and Southaven Police.
The man has been charged with aggravated kidnapping. The motive behind the abduction was not immediately clear.
