State Department Of Health Recommends Booster Shots After Six Months for Moderna/Pfizer; Three Months For J&J

Booster doses of COVID-19 vaccine protect you better against the rising Omicron variant. If your vaccination isn’t recent, schedule a booster dose now. A third vaccine dose is also important for those who are older or in poor health.

If you develop even mild symptoms that may be COVID-19 (cold or flu-like symptoms, sore throat, coughing, or sneezing), don’t hesitate to be tested. MSDH offers free rapid COVID-19 testing with follow-up PCR testing at no cost. Find out more and make an appointment at https://msdh.ms.gov/freetesting

Local healthcare providers also offer testing. For a list, see https://msdh.ms.gov/covid19test
Remember to help others by wearing a mask and limiting your time in public until you know your test results. If you test positive, isolate at home for at least 5 days, and return to work and public activity only when your symptoms improve and you are fever-free.
