Statesmen Remain on Top of Conference Championship Standings

Federico Bracco snuck out a win in the 100-yard butterfly, and the Delta State University swimming and diving team did just enough to remain in the poll position after the second night of the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships.

INSIDE THE LANE LINES

  • Bracco secured first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 47.19, narrowly edging Jase Pinckney from Henderson State (47.24) and teammate Tucker Schroer, who posted a 47.29. 
  • Alex Miller (4th), Carson Traylor (6th), and Berk Ozkul (7th) also helped the Statesmen rack up the points in the 100-yard butterfly.
  • In the men’s 400 individual medley, AJ Williams finished third overall for the Statesmen in 4:01.68.
  • The 200-yard freestyle saw Miller swim to fifth place for DSU, while teammate Savio Ragonesiwas right behind him in sixth place for the Green and White.
  • The 400-yard medley relay team of Ozkul, Ragonesi, Traylor, and Schroer were narrowly out-touched by Henderson State to finish second.
