PARCHMAN, Miss.–Inmates at a damaged unit at Parchman have been moved to another part of the prison while the Dept. of Corrections works on getting the damaged unit fixed.
According to a release from the department, the roof was damaged by a storm overnight Tuesday.
They did not say how many inmates had to be moved or whether the unit housed prisoners considered more dangerous or violent than the rest.
The department said they are working diligently to assess and repair damage, though. Ni estimate was provided on how long it may take.
