CLARKSDALE, Miss.-A Clarkdale city judge may be removed. The Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance is recommending Carlos Moore, who has a reputation for taking on high-profile cases in his own law practice, no longer be employed as a municipal judge in Clarksdale or Grenada.

Moore has been reprimanded nine times since he began serving as a judge, says the commission. One of those reprimands was for posting about a case on social media.

The commission also accuses Moore of furthering his own law practice by using his judicial position.

The commission said in a report they believe Moore has disdain for professional conduct.

It will be up to the Mississippi Supreme court whether he gets to keep his judicial positions in Clarksdale, which he has held since 2017, and Grenada, which he has held for the past four years.

Outside of his Mississippi cases, Moore is representing actor Terrance Howard, who is suing his TV studio bosses, saying he has been unfairly paid a lower salary because he is Black.
