GREENVILLE, Miss. — Three suspects charged in connection with a shooting behind the Greenville Mall have made their initial court appearances, with two receiving $2 million bonds and a third receiving a $60,000 bond.
According to the Greenville Police Department, the court set bond at $2 million each for Brandon Mitchell and Cleveland Johnson. Jeremiah Jackson was granted a $60,000 bond.
The charges stem from a shooting that occurred June 27 behind the Greenville Mall on U.S. Highway 1 South. Police have said the investigation remains active.
Authorities said detectives are continuing to pursue additional leads and expect to make more arrests as the case progresses.
Police Chief Marcus R. Turner Sr. praised officers, investigators, crime scene personnel and law enforcement partners for their work on the case.
“Every arrest sends a clear message that violence has consequences,” Turner said. “I am proud of the relentless work of our officers and investigators who remain committed to protecting our community and bringing every person responsible to justice. We will continue to follow the evidence wherever it leads until everyone involved is held accountable.”
