MEMPHIS, TN (605 PM CDT Tue Sep 1 2020) — The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Lee County in eastern Arkansas Central Phillips County in eastern Arkansas Northeastern Coahoma County in northwestern Mississippi Southwestern Tunica County in northwestern Mississippi until 645 PM CDT. At 605 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles north of Elaine, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Elaine, Helena-West Helena, St Francis National Park, Friars Point, Lexa, Dundee, Lake View, Coahoma, Lula, Wabash, Moon, Modoc, Preston Place, Quarles, Austin, Hoop Spur, Westover, Jeffries, Wycamp and Latour. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for eastern Arkansas. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
