MEMPHIS, TN (429 AM CST Sat Jan 11 2020) — The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern DeSoto County in northwestern Mississippi Southeastern Coahoma County in northwestern Mississippi Southeastern Tunica County in northwestern Mississippi Tate County in northwestern Mississippi Northwestern Tallahatchie County in northwestern Mississippi Quitman County in northwestern Mississippi Panola County in northwestern Mississippi until 515 AM CST. At 428 AM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Dubbs to near Dublin, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Senatobia, Batesville, Marks, Sardis, Coldwater, Lambert, Jonestown, Como, Crenshaw, Crowder, Sledge, Pope, Belen, Strayhorn, Pleasant Grove, Dubbs, Curtis Station, Arkabutla, Vance and Darling. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 700 AM CST for northwestern Mississippi. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
