JACKSON, MS (419 PM CDT Thu Jul 2 2020) — The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southeastern Chicot County in southeastern Arkansas Northeastern East Carroll Parish in northeastern Louisiana Southwestern Washington County in northwestern Mississippi Northwestern Issaquena County in west central Mississippi until 500 PM CDT. At 418 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Glen Allan, or 11 miles south of Avon, and is nearly stationary. HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated. Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include Shelburn, Gassoway, Millikin, Grace, Glen Allan and Mayersville. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
