Timothy Herrington Reindicted, Rearrested for Murder of Ole Miss Student Jay Lee

SHARE NOW
OXFORD, Miss.–Timothy Herrington, Jr., of Grenada, has been reindicted and rearrested in the murder of Ole Miss student Jimmy “Jay” Lee, whose body was found last month in the McCarley area in Carroll County by hunters.
He also now faces an additional charge of tampering with physical evidence.
A bond hearing has been set for Feb. 21.
Herrington was tried for the murder last year without a body, a matter his attorneys argued should compel the jury to set him free. Instead a mistrial was declared, with 11 jurors voting guilty.
A new trial date has not been set. In fact, with the new indictment, the process begins all over.
Herrington has hired a new attorney.
