A devastating collision on Highway 17 in Holmes County resulted in the loss of two lives on Wednesday afternoon. The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) swiftly responded to the fatal crash scene at approximately 5:08 p.m.
The tragic incident involved a southbound Jeep Cherokee, driven by 21-year-old Mieshia Clay from Tchula, MS, and a northbound 2021 Honda Accord, driven by 31-year-old Brittney Russell from Lexington, MS. The collision proved fatal for both drivers, leaving families and the community in mourning.
