A tragic incident unfolded on December 24, 2023, at approximately 9:04 pm when Coahoma County 911 received a distressing call. A juvenile, Ladarius Nesbitt, aged 10, was being transported to the hospital in Clarksdale by personal vehicle after being shot in Friars Point.
Coahoma County Sheriff’s Deputies swiftly responded, alongside Friars Point Police, to the scene where they discovered that two juveniles, aged 14 and 10, were targeted while driving around the downtown area. Gunfire struck the 10-year-old, who was subsequently transported to the hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
The victim, Ladarius Nesbitt, hailed from Lambert, Mississippi. Coahoma County Sheriff’s Investigator Major Gwen Muskin urges anyone with information about this tragic incident to contact her at 662-592-1395. A reward of $2,500.00 is offered for any information leading to the arrest of those involved in this senseless shooting.
