GREENVILLE, Miss.–Trey Porter sent a shout-out to his hometown of Greenville, when talking to reporters at the NFL Combine this weekend in Indianapolis.
“Greenville, Mississippi, born and raised,” he said.
The graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School is now a running back at Florida State University. But, he hopes to soon play in the NFL. He specifically mentioned he believes he’d be a good fit for the Dallas Cowboys.
He talked about his first touchdown. He made it when he was eight years old, playing for a little league team in Greenville.
“It was a ten-yard erticle route. He just threw it up and I caught it. Actually it was my first time ever catching a football.”
While at the Combine, which is a showcase for football talent from across the country, Porter completed the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds, quite a feat for someone who’s 220 lbs.
