OXFORD, Miss.–The murder trial of Timothy Herington is set to begin today in Oxford.
Herrington is accused of killing Ole Miss student Jimmy “Jay” Lee in 2022, police believe to cover up a romantic relationship between the two.
Herrington is also accused of hiding Lee’s body, a job done so effectively that his body was never found.
Lee disappeared July 8, 2022.
The trial proceedings begin with jury selection. The jury is being chosen from outside of Lafayette County. Once chosen, they will be brought in each day of the trial for testimony.
