GREENVILLE, Miss.–A truck was spotted driving down Greenville city streets Thursday morning with sewage leaking out.
Mayor Errick Simmons acknowledged in a Facebook post that a citizen had alerted the mayor’s office about the truck at 10:30.
He said the truck belonged to a subcontractor doing work for the city.
“The City immediately contacted our consulting engineers, who made contact with the general contractor along with the subcontractor, informing them that the situation needed to be corrected immediately and swiftly. The subcontractor has informed our engineers that they are stopping work today to investigate the cause of the issue and will resume work once the issue is rectified,” said the post.
“Thanks to the citizen for reporting this incident, and we encourage all residents to help with incident reporting – if you see something, say something.
