TUNICA, Miss. — Residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of unused medications later this month as part of a nationwide initiative.
The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office announced it will host a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day event on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event will take place in the lobby of the sheriff’s office, located at 5126 Old Mhoon Landing Road in Tunica.
Officials said the event is free and allows community members to anonymously dispose of old or unwanted medications with no questions asked. The initiative is designed to prevent misuse of prescription drugs and promote safe disposal practices.
The event is part of a nationwide effort coordinated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration to address concerns surrounding prescription drug abuse.
