Tunica Man Convicted of Ammunition Charge While Awaiting Sentencing for 2023 Murder

TUNICA, Miss.–A man who is already serving prison time and who is due to be sentenced to more prison time for a murder from 2023, was convicted Wednesday on a charge that he was a felon in possession of ammunition.
Korea McKay, 44, shot and killed a man named Davao Thomas Feb. 18, 2023, when Thomas told him to slow down while driving his truck through an apartment complex. McKay his his truck behind a trailer, where it was later found by deputies.
He’s already serving time for being a felon with a firearm from an incident in DeSoto County five years ago.
He’ll be sentenced for the murder this summer.
