GREENWOOD, Miss. — Two people were killed and two others were injured in a shooting Tuesday night at a family gathering in Greenwood, according to police.
Officers with the Greenwood Police Department responded at about 8:18 p.m. to reports of shots fired in the 300 block of East Market Street. Upon arrival, officers found multiple people had been shot.
Police said two victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities also addressed rumors circulating on social media, stating that no police officers were involved in the shooting. Police described the incident as isolated.
