Two Killed in Separate Greenville Shootings

The Greenville Police Department is investigating two deadly shootings that occurred within hours of each other in the 200 and 300 blocks of South Broadway.

The first shooting took place on January 30th, around 10 p.m. Police responded to reports of a vehicle that had been shot into in the 200 block near Central Street. Inside the vehicle were three men who had sustained gunshot wounds. Pafford Ambulance Services transported them to Delta Health Systems, where 36-year-old Darrius Mitchell of Greenville later died from his injuries. The other two victims are receiving further treatment.

The second shooting occurred early the next morning, around 3 a.m., in the 300 block of South Broadway near Percy Street. Officers found 37-year-old Anthony Sexton of Greenville lying in the street, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motive behind both shootings is unclear, and investigators are actively working on leads. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at (662) 378-8477 or through the P3 app.

The investigation into both incidents is ongoing.
