Today MSDH is reporting an additional 8,329 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 17 deaths. All seventeen deaths occurred between January 15 and January 19. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases is now 673,873, with 10,707 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 61 additional COVID-19 cases in residents of long-term care facilities and no additional deaths. There are currently 311 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.

VACCINATIONS AND BOOSTERS
Fully vaccinated individuals with a current booster dose are the most highly protected against severe illness from the Omicron variant of COVID-19. Vaccinations and boosters are free and available at any MSDH county health department or from hundreds of providers statewide.
